Types of Facelifts:

1. Botox (Neuromodulator)

  • How it works: Injections temporarily relax the specific muscles that cause expression lines (like frown lines and crow's feet).

  • Best for: Dynamic wrinkles (lines visible when making facial expressions).

  • Results & Longevity: Fast results (in about 3–7 days). Effects last roughly 3 to 6 months, requiring regular maintenance.

  • Downtime: Zero downtime; you can return to normal activities immediately.

  • Costs: $450-$600 per session

2. TriPollar (Radiofrequency Skin Tightening)

  • How it works: A non-invasive technology that uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat the deeper layers of skin. This volumetric heating contracts existing collagen and stimulates your body to produce new collagen and elastin.

  • Best for: Mild-to-moderate skin laxity, fine lines, advanced aging, and improving skin texture/contour.

  • Results & Longevity: Some immediate tightening, but best results require a series of 4–8 weekly sessions. Maintenance is needed every 1-3 months. at home devices will not achieve medical grade results.

  • Costs: $200-2,000 before maintenance

3. Facelift (Surgical Procedure)

  • How it works: An invasive cosmetic surgery (usually performed under sedation or general anesthesia) that involves lifting and repositioning the deeper layers of facial tissues, and trimming excess sagging skin.

  • Best for: Advanced signs of aging, deep creases, heavy jowls, and severe skin laxity.

  • Results & Longevity: Dramatic and long-lasting. Results generally last around 10 years.

  • Downtime: Significant. Expect 2 or more weeks of recovery time due to swelling and bruising.

  • Costs: $10,000+

What is Tripolar RF?

The radiofrequency energy gently heats the skin’s superficial layers and deeper subcutaneous tissue, tightening existing collagen fibers and stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin for smoother, more supple skin.

The Tripolar RF devices are cleared by the FDA to treat wrinkles. Practitioners  also use it to tighten sagging skin along the jawline and under the chin. On the body, Tripolar can shrink fat cells and temporarily improve the look of cellulite. All Tripolar treatments are safe for all skin tones and types.

What are the pros and cons of TriPolar RF?

Pros

  • The treatment targets both superficial skin and the deeper tissue, tightening skin and shrinking fat cells.

  • The in-office treatment is pain-free and involves no downtime.

  • At-home devices can extend the benefits of in-office treatments.

Cons

  • Up to ten sessions are suggested for optimum results—so the cost can add up.

  • Because of their low wattage, at-home devices don’t deliver major results beyond maintenance of in-office treatment results.

What happens during a TriPolar RF treatment?

Each treatment lasts up to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area that’s being treated.

The electrodes on the machine’s handpiece deliver radiofrequency energy to the targeted area. This should feel warm, with no pain and little to no discomfort.

You’ll be able to resume your routine immediately after your treatment, with no downtime.
